Representative Miller reads to children at Wonder Years, 188 Rocky Rest Road in Shelton, on Monday, March 30th in observance of Read Across America Day. The event is usually held on March 2nd, the late children’s author Dr. Seuss’s birthday, but had to be postponed because of a major snowstorm.

$750,000 Federal Stimulus Grant OK’d for Stratford Greenway Bicycle-Pedestrian Trail

A $750,000 federal stimulus grant that will help fund a 1.2 mile Housatonic River Greenway Bicycle-Pedestrian Trail has been approved for Stratford, state Representatives Lawrence G. Miller and John Harkins said today.

A federal stimulus grant totaling $603,523 for the Housing Authority of the Town of Stratford and another stimulus grant amounting to $182,509 (a Community Development Block Grant) for Stratford has been authorized by Governor Rell’s Connecticut Recovery Working Group, state Representative Lawrence G. Miller said Monday, March 23rd.
